NZ Supreme Award

On Friday the 12th of May many of the who's who in the Commercial building game from architects and designers through to engineers and construction companies put on their number one's to attend an evening at Auckland's Langham Hotel to celebrate the prestigious 'New Zealand Commercial Projects Awards'.

The calibre of entries this year was exceptional with no superlative too great to bestow upon the recipients. In amongst these projects were a number featuring joinery bearing the Fletcher Window and Door Systems name and the names within its market portfolio.

The 'Burwood Hospital Redevelopment' which featured the 'Altus Window Systems - Oakley Suite' picked up the 'Health Project Award' entered by Leighs Cockram JV Limited. Which by coincidence was presented by our very own Haydon Rogers (Architectural Rep).

But the limelight and accolades definitely goes to 'The Remarkables Base Building' entered by Arrow International (NZ) Limited, which picked up the coveted 'Top National Commercial Project Award'. Described as the project like no other, judge's praised the "total team effort".

This project features the Oakley Suite - Thermal Curtain Wall. 'The Remarkables Base Building' is one of ethereal qualities and the glazed façade has already been recognised by the window and door industry by winning the Supreme WANZ (Window Association of New Zealand) Design Project of the year.

A special mention has to go to Michael Brenssell and the Vistallite Otago team for the skill, expertise and mammoth effort they put in to achieve a truly remarkable outcome. As Michael himself has said "This project was challenging, complex and exhilarating all at the same time."

A big congratulations to all the finalists and of course... the winners.
