Local means responsibility
We’re a local business. As such, we believe this brings a certain set of responsibilities around doing what’s right by the community that we live and work in. Which is why we’re determined to manage our emissions downward through the application of scientific and technology-based solutions.

Using low-carbon aluminium that is born here
For more than 50 years the Manapouri Hydro Station has been generating electricity 200m underground in Fiordland National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. All of its 800+ megawatts of clean energy feeds directly into New Zealand’s Aluminium Smelter at Tiwai Point where some of the world’s cleanest and greenest aluminium is produced. The carbon footprint of aluminium produced at Tiwai is about four times lower than the global industry average.
100% of our extrudable aluminium comes from Tiwai.
Introducing EPDs
An Environmental Product Declaration or ‘EPD’ is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable data about the life-cycle environmental impact of a product in terms of resource depletion (minerals, metals and fossil fuels), and its potential to add to acid rain (acidification), algal blooms (eutrophication) and summer smog (photochemical ozone creation).
These documents are based on international standards and produced in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2:2019.
You can access a copy of our EPD here.
Our systems
Sometimes it’s the small mundane things that have the biggest impacts. Take our metal ordering system for example. It optimises every job submitted, from work flows to specifying the most efficient way to cut the aluminium therefore minimising potential wastage.
We also order our metal extrusions in multiple lengths, meaning we minimise off cuts and scrap. Not everyone does this. Some providers only supply one length no matter the order length, which can result in unnecessary waste.
