Patented Corner Connection System


It is important that our joinery not only looks good but contributes to protecting the building from the elements.

Our lead residential joinery systems are manufactured using Altus Window Systems patented connection system, to give you more secure weathertight joinery. This unique patented connector systems is considered by many in the New Zealand building industry to be the most innovative available. Whilst these systems are unseen by the homeowner, they provide peace of mind that their asset is secure and will be well protected for years to come.

These same connectors offer the dual benefits of preventing water entering the joinery as well as providing controlled paths to drain away unwanted moisture. That's because our patented connection system doesn’t require us to drill holes in frames, which maintains the integrity of the joinery.

The windows are designed with a strong focus on frame and panel drainage, and a novel approach to eliminating potential problems. This approach includes using patented jointing technologies such as our crimped corner connection system in many products.

Frames for awning and casement windows and hinged doors are designed to be crimped together in a counter directional way without penetrating the glazing platform. This draws the extrusion together to create tight joints, which with modern sealants significantly reduces the likelihood of leaks.

Sealant is then injected to seal off the frame protecting the liner. The corner connector used in this process also acts as frame support for the mitred joint. It provides controlled drainage paths for condensation, channels errant water at the head, and any water picked up through a joint failure, directing that water safely to the outside of the building envelope.
